DR. D. PRESTON FLANIGAN

DR. D. PRESTON FLANIGAN

Dr. Flanigan believes in educating his patients about their diseases and what they can do to reduce their risk for disease progression. When more involved therapies are required, Dr. Flanigan continues his dedication to patient education. This helps patients make informed decisions about the many options in the management of their vascular diseases.

Dr. Flanigan graduated cum laude from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, took his surgical training at the University of Michigan, and completed an additional vascular fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. Although Dr. Flanigan's practice encompasses the entire field of vascular surgery, his current interest is in the application of new, minimally invasive, endovascular therapies for diseases of the arteries and veins.

Dr. Flanigan has been in practice at St. Joseph hospital since 1988 and is the Medical Director of the hospital's Vascular Institute. He is the past president of the Southern California Vascular Surgical Society and past Chairman of the Section of Vascular Surgery at St. Joseph Hospital. He has published over 230 articles and chapters and three books in the field of Vascular Surgery and has been awarded numerous research grants throughout his career. He is a member of every national and western regional learned vascular surgical society in the United States and has been given the highest award of Distinguished Fellow of the Society of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Flanigan is married with four children. He enjoys golf, travel, computer science, cycling and spending time with his family.

DR. TIFFANY Y. WU

DR. TIFFANY Y. WU

Dr. Wu joined VISOC in 2017 as a vascular surgeon, specializing in minimally-invasive vascular surgery, advanced endovascular surgery, percutaneous peripheral interventions and venous disease. She completed her Vascular Surgery fellowship at Stanford University, where her training encompassed the full gamut of treating vascular surgical diseases with a special emphasis on advanced endovascular and minimally invasive techniques. Prior to Stanford, Tiffany completed her surgical training at Huntington Hospital, a private affiliate of the University of Southern California, where she also received her medical degree. Prior to that, she received her B.A. in Chemistry from Harvard University.

Dr. Wu is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in vascular surgery and has been elected to the Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS). She has been published in numerous articles in various scientific journals, including the Journal of Vascular Surgery (JVS) and Annals of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Wu believes in a tailored approach to the specific needs of each patient to ensure the highest quality of care. She values the progression of medicine through the application of new techniques and innovations. These technological advancements are one of the many reasons she became interested in Vascular Surgery, and she applies these new methodologies to the treatment of her patients.

A Southern California native, Dr. Wu enjoys her family, traveling, the outdoors, and Trojan football in her free time. She has a special interest in volunteer work abroad, and has traveled to Mexico, Asia, and Africa on various medical missions.

DR. MEENA ARCHIE

DR. MEENA ARCHIE

Dr. Archie is a native of Southern California. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles summa cum laude with a degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. He obtained his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and completed his residency training in vascular surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Archie is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on cutting edge technology in peripheral artery disease (PAD), aortic aneurysm surgery, and thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). He specializes in advanced minimally invasive techniques including endovascu- lar therapy for PAD, fenestrated endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (FEVAR), and hybrid repairs employing both open surgical and endovascular techniques for the aorta, carotid, and peripheral arteries.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Archie participates in medical mission trips to indigent villages in Egypt. His future goals include introducing the novel techniques he learned in the United States to the vascular surgeons in Egypt. He plans to do so with the help of his brother, who is also a vascular surgeon interested in providing medical services to indigent populations.

Dr. Archie is dedicated to serving this community by clarifying your problem, helping you find a solution, and inspiring healthy living in order to prevent future issues. While realizing this may be daunting at first, he believes every patient is owed these rights and is here to support you every step of the way.

DR. MAHMOOD RAZAVI

DR. MAHMOOD RAZAVI

Dr. Razavi joined the staff of St. Joseph Vascular Institute in August 2005 and currently serves as the Director of Clinical Trials and Research Center. Dr. Razavi specializes in image-guided therapy for cancer and endovascular treatment of vascular disease including carotid artery stent replacement. Before moving to Southern California, he was an Associate Professor of Interventional Radiology at the Stanford University Medical Center and the Director of the fellowship program. He had also served as the Acting Chief of Interventional Radiology at Stanford University Hospital.

Dr. Razavi received his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his Radiology residency training at UCLA, where he served as the Chief Resident. He has had two subspeciality fellowship trainings; first in Medical Imaging at UCLA, where his research concentrated on instrumentation and clinical evaluation of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and second in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology at Stanford University Hospital. Dr. Razavi then joined the faculty of Interventional Radiology at UCLA and was the director of Special Procedures at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. In 1996, he went back to Stanford, where he was on the full-time faculty in the Vascular Center until 2005.

To date, he has authored and co-authored more than 250 scientific publications, abstracts, and book chapters and has been the recipient of many honors and awards from various professional medical societies. He has given over 120 invited lectures at national and international meetings and is considered an authority in the field of minimally invasive image-guided procedures.

Dr. Razavi is also the editor of Techniques in Vascular & Interventional Radiology and has served on the editorial board of other prestigious scientific journals. His scientific work has been featured in over 100 national and international radio, television and press news articles and programs. Dr. Razavi also serves on the Board of Directors and the Scientific Advisory Board of several device and biotechnology companies. He is a consultant to many medical device manufacturers and is co-founder of three medical device companies.

DR. RAJ KHALSA

DR. RAJ KHALSA

Bhavraj (Raj) Khalsa is a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist who specializes in minimally invasive image-guided procedures (MIIPs), with a special interest in image-guided cancer therapy and endovascular treatment of arterial and venous disease. Dr. Khalsa is a California native, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California as an Engineering Merit and Presidential Scholar.

Dr. Khalsa completed his medical school, General Surgery internship and Radiology residency training at the University of California, Irvine, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Resident of the Year Award as well as the Radiological Society of North America Resident Research Award. He completed his fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Dotter Interventional Institute, also known as the birthplace of Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Khalsa has authored several peer-reviewed publications and given presentations in the field of minimally invasive therapies. He has been awarded grants in academic development and research, and has led multiple medical device development projects. Most importantly, Dr. Khalsa believes in a patient-centered and technology-enabled approach to healthcare.
